Masternode & Staking Guides
  1. To run a Masternode, you must acquire at least 25,000 NTRN.
  2. You will need to download the currently updated wallet. Download Neutron Wallet.
  3. Open the wallet and let it run for just a moment.
  4. The wallet can take days to sync with the blockchain, so let’s make it faster, close the wallet.
  5. Sync your wallet faster by downloading the Official Neutron Blockchain Bootstrap.
  6. Go to Tools Click Show Backups.
  7. Delete the following FOUR Files ONLY:
    1. Peers.dat –  2.  Blkdat0001.dat – 3.  Database folder – 4.  Txleveldb folder
  8. Replace the same files by extracting them from the bootstrap zip
  9. Restart the wallet
  10. Once syncing is complete, deposit your Neutrons. Click on Receive Coins Tab. Here you will find your Deposit Address.
  11. Once you’ve made the deposit into your wallet, we must wait for 90 Confirmations to stake the coins, OR 15 confirms to send them to a Masternode. To check the status, click on the Transactions Tab, mouse-over the transaction, a box will appear stating the amount of Confirms.
  12. Click on Nucleus Tab, then My Nucleus Nodes.
  13. Click Create, a window will appear, name your Masternode under Alias.
  14. Obtain your VPS ADDRESS
  15. Now insert that IP with :32001 under Address (like: 10.20.30.40:32001).  Click OK
  16. Click the Masternode to highlight it and click Get Config. This will bring up a window with your configuration information, copy all of the content.
  17. Go to Tools Click Show Backups.
  18. Open up A Simple NOTEPAD, paste the info from Get Config to the new document.
  19. Change the user and pass, (can be anything just not the same) and the port to 32001. Add staking=0
  20. Click File -> Save as -> neutron.conf. Make sure you click on Save as type: all files (*.*)
  21. Now restart the wallet.
  22. Deposit your 25000 NTRN into the Masternode Collateral Address you created.
  23. Wait for the 15 Confirmations.
  24. Click Start under My Necelus Nodes. You should get a window stating Adreline Node Started.
  25. You can Also Goto Help>Debug window>Console Tab and enter: masternode start

    If you Receive a “Cannot Allocate Vin”, double check your Config file.
    Make sure everything is correct and you have at least 15 Confirmations.
    If you Encrypt your wallet, Make Sure to UNLOCK IT FIRST.

To Stake, you can use any amount of Neutrons. Keep in mind, the more you have, the more the Rewards frequency.

Download Latest Wallet. HERE
Replace the old wallet shortcut.
Launch from new shortcut.

Linux
Make sure wallet is stopped.
~/neutron/src/neutrond stop
Replace the old wallet with new one.
cd ~/neutron/src

Relaunch wallet

Browse to the Applications folder
Move NEW Neutron-qt to Applications folder Replacing existing one.
Open Wallet.

How can I get rewards?
Neutron works using a Proof of Stake technology, you just have to hold your coins in your wallet in order to start receiving rewards. You can use two methods to earn Neutron rewards: Staking your coins or set up a Masternode.
What is the total coin supply?
The total coin supply limit is ~68,000,000 coins
When was Neutron started?
The first coin was minted in the first quarter of 2015. There was No Pre-mine, No IPO/ICO.

Who controls the price of Neutron?
The price of Neutron is determined by the supply & demand established by buyers and sellers. Its value, in other words, is determined by the market.
What is bootstrap?
It is a database file to verify the block in a wallet, which was in synced by someone before. In other words, this is one way to speed up the sync process when you first start your wallet.
Do I need to wait for the wallet to be fully synced before sending coins?
It’s better to wait for your wallet to fully sync, but in case you send it before the blockchain finishes downloading, you should see the incoming transaction.
How do I send Neutron coins from the exchange to my wallet?
Go to the receive tab in your wallet and copy the address of your wallet (you can generate new addresses) and use that address to send your coins.
Is there a Neutron's blockchain bootstrap that I can download?
Yes, you can find it here.
When should I backup my wallet?
Technically a single backup is enough. The Neutron network has a record of all your coins and transactions. However, it is always recommended to back up regularly starting before you send the first coins to your wallet.
Where is my wallet.dat located?
Clicking Tool Menu, Then Show Backups
This will launch the Neutron Folder.

Windows:
Go to Start > Run > %APPDATA%Neutron
(or just enter the above path in explorer)

Linux:
~/.Neutron

Mac OS:
~/Library/Application Support/Neutron
Note: The ~/Library folder hidden, so In order to see hidden folders, such as ~/Library from Finder,
simply hit shift + ⌘ (command) + G which will GO to a folder, then paste in this location: ~/Library/Application Support/Neutron

My wallet freezes, what can I do?
Upgrade to the latest wallet on our Neutron Website, if it persists please get in touch with our support via email or discord.
How do I backup private keys/wallet.dat?
Clicking File, Backup Wallet
will bring up a Save Wallet.dat Message.
Select your save location and press save.

To backup keys, you need to use the debug windows console. Using the command: dumpprivkey 9xXxXXXXXXXXxXXx.

For masternodes, your private key is located under My Nodes tab, then click on Get Config.

How much do you earn staking?
It depends on the amount of Neutrons coins you hold in your wallet and the weight you have on the network.
How many NTRN coins are required to stake?
There is no minimum amount of Neutron Coins to stake.
How much does each stake pay me?
Currently, each time that anyone receives a stake is about ~6 NTRNs. It is the same amount for everyone, no matter how many coins they have in their wallet. The difference is in the frequency which you get paid.
Do I need to restart my wallet after adding Neutrons?
No, that’s not necessary, You just need the coins to mature before they can stake.
How long does it take the coins to mature before they can start staking?
Coins mature time is around 5 hours.
What do I need to do to start staking?
You can start staking after your coins are mature, just leave your wallet open. You are going to see a green arrow in the bottom right corner of your wallet
This will indicate that it is staking. You have to run your computer/server for 24/7 – you’ll only stake if your wallet is running and your computer is turned on.
How do I know that my Neutron wallet is staking?
You will see the icons in the bottom right of your wallet. If staking works, the arrow in the bottom right will turn green.

What do I need to setup a Neutron Masternode?

Can I have more that one MN per IP address?
No, ONLY 1 IP address per Masternode.
Can a masternode stake coins as well?
No, you need to withdraw your earned coins to another wallet for staking.
Does a Masternode need to be hosted on a computer that is online 24/7?
Yes, that is why we recommend a VPS.
Do I need a static IP address?
No, but you will need to make changes to your MN every time your IP address changes, otherwise, it will stop working.
Can I run multiple masternodes from one server?
Masternodes are designed to help the network to be secure and decentralized. As such, each one is REQUIRED be on a separate server.
Does having more coins in the masternode increase reward?
No.
How to improve the security of local Masternode wallet?
Basic principles of protection: remember the password or private key and backup wallet.dat file, not to disclose the information to anyone.
Which port does the Neutron masternode use?
Technically Neutron uses port 32001. Be sure to let your firewall only accept that port. If you use SSH, make sure only your IP address can connect to the server.
I’ve been getting irregular MN rewards, is that normal?
Yes, the rewards are irregular right now, there are days that you make more and other days less, but the overall is the same. We are working on our network to make them more regular for a smoother experience.
What is the Nucleus Network?
Nucleus network is the name Neutron calls the masternode network.

Instructions:
– Delete ONLY these files/folders from your Neutron data folder
